Kanthalloor and Vattavada are often called the "Kashmir of Kerala" because of their ability to grow winter fruits like apples and strawberries. They are located near each other, but offer very different vibes.
The Vibe
Kanthalloor is more developed for tourism. It has more resorts, homestays, and paved roads. It feels like a small hill station town.
Vattavada is rawer and more secluded. It is surrounded by protected Shola forests and national parks. It feels like a hidden village stuck in time.
