Jeep Safari in Vattavada

Off-Road
Into the Mist.

← Back to all stories

The roads in Vattavada are beautiful, but the real beauty lies where the tarmac ends. A Jeep Safari is not just a ride; it's the only way to access the deep forests, hidden waterfalls, and mountain peaks that regular cars simply cannot reach.

The Route

Most safaris start from the Vattavada junction. As you leave the village behind, the path becomes rugged. You'll bounce over rocks, splash through small streams, and climb steep inclines. It's bumpy, it's loud, and it's incredibly fun.

What You'll See

  • Strawberry Farms: The jeep will take you right into the heart of the farmlands.
  • Chilanthiyar Falls: A drive to the base of the waterfall, followed by a short trek.
  • Pazhathottam View Point: The jeep climbs up to the ridge for a panoramic view.
  • Wilderness: Driving through the buffer zone of the national park increases your chances of spotting bison and elephants.

Open-Top Experience

Ask for an open-top jeep. Standing up in the back with the cold wind hitting your face as you drive through the mist is a feeling of pure freedom. Just hold on tight!

Cost & Duration

A typical safari lasts for about 2 to 3 hours. The cost varies depending on the season and the route chosen, but it is generally very affordable for a group. It's best to book in advance, especially on weekends.
